On the occasion of Entrenova annual conference, a workshop on "Teaching creativity in Higher Education" is organised, with a focus on management and economics studies. We have the pleasure to discuss the topic of creativity in higher education with two distinguished guest speakers: Todd Lubart and Vlad Glăveanu. Moderator and co-organizer of the workshop is Lionel Artige.
Part 1, 15 minutes - intro to creativity: historical development from prehistory to now (briefly), definition and the multivariate model of creativity, focus on the environment and link to education (since interventions in this area aim to create the right environmental conditions, including tasks and activities, for creativity to flourish).
Part 2, 45 minutes - 30 minutes of exercise of divergent and convergent thinking on ways to use "Monopoly" game (with modified rule or other ideas) to get students to engage their creative thinking (this exercise is geared to economics and management fields). 15 minutes at the end of the 45 min: quick presentation of each groups' most original ideas.
Part 3, 30 minutes - discussion of the exercise, and distinction bewteen teaching creativity and teaching creatively, and other points that might have come up during the exercise and presentations.
